APPOINTMENT OF THE REV. EBENEZER COLLINS TO GEELONG 1845 |
---|
The Church of England congregation of Geelong have, after a series of delays and disappointments, succeeded in procuring the positive appointment of a resident clergyman.
The gentleman selected, (whose arrival may be expected in a few weeks) is the Rev. Ebenezer Collins, whose acquirements and character are well spoken of, and who has acquired some celebrity as a traveller in Africa and other countries. His arrival, though so long protracted, will be most opportune.
The handsome new church is nearly raised to its full elevation; and the organ has just been built and tuned, and found to be a first-rate instrument.
